HGV Technician - Day Shift
Location: Reading area
Hours: 08:00-16:30 (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE) + overtime at 1.5x basic rate

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a leading commercial vehicle service centre in the Reading area. This permanent role offers excellent earning potential, structured working hours, and access to continuous training and development within a modern, well-equipped workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of HGVs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
• Support workshop efficiency by keeping accurate job records and documentation.
• Conduct wheel alignment, tyre fitting, and general mechanical upkeep.
• Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and compliance.

Skills & Experience

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI).
• Proven experience working on HGVs or trailers in a dealership or fleet environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with attention to quality and safety.
• Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential).
• Professional attitude, teamwork, and commitment to high service standards.
