Start Date: After Easter 2026 (potentially sooner)

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Southend-on-Sea for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a Full time maternity cover basis.

You will be responsible for teaching and supporting Key Stage 3 pupils with Autism (ASD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), delivering a tailored curriculum that promotes engagement, progress and emotional wellbeing.

• Plan and deliver adapted, inclusive lessons to meet a range of SEN needs

• Teach and support KS3 pupils with ASD and MLD in small groups and targeted settings

• Implement and review EHCP outcomes and personalised learning strategies

• Work collaboratively with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants and pastoral teams

• Create a structured, nurturing and supportive learning environment

• Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)

• Has experience teaching pupils with ASD and/or MLD (mainstream or specialist setting)

• Demonstrates strong behaviour management and inclusive teaching practice

• Is flexible, patient and committed to supporting diverse learners

• Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team
