This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning the month-end process, producing meaningful insight, and partnering with non-finance stakeholders to support commercial and operational decision-making.

Description
The key responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:
- Ownership of the monthly reporting cycle, delivering accurate management accounts with meaningful commentary
- Investigation and interpretation of performance against budget and forecast, highlighting key drivers and trends
- Creation of clear, value-adding financial information to support internal decision-makers
- Playing a key role in the annual budgeting process and regular forecast updates
- Reviewing and constructively challenging financial assumptions to strengthen planning and forecasting outputs
- Evaluating income and cost patterns to identify commercial risks, efficiencies, and growth opportunities
- Assisting with financial modelling, scenario planning, and the development of performance metrics
- Working closely with operational stakeholders to act as a trusted finance partner
- Ensuring robust financial controls, reconciliations, and governance are maintained
- Driving improvements across finance processes, reporting, and systems
- Providing support during audit cycles and year-end close activities
Profile
A successful Management Accountant should have or be:
- Working towards qualifications in accounting or finance.
- Strong, end-to-end management accounting experience, including month-end ownership
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Confident working with large data sets and advanced Excel
- Experience in a multi-site or operationally complex environment
- Comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Systems-savvy, with experience using Sage 200 (highly desirable)
- Analytical, detail-focused, and commercially curious
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
- A collaborative team player who builds strong internal relationships
