Airside Driver

Location: Airport Airside (Security Restricted Area)
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Shift Pattern: 4 on/2 off
Shift Length: 8.5 hours per shift
Shift Types: Mixture of earlies and lates

Pay & Overtime

• Monday to Friday: Basic Pay Rate 1.5
• Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays: Basic Pay Rate 2

Role Overview

We are recruiting Airside Drivers to work within a secure airport environment. The role involves operating a variety of vehicles airside, ensuring strict adherence to aviation safety, security regulations, and operational procedures. This is a fast-paced, safety-critical role requiring reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Minimum Licence & Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

• HGV Class 2/Category C licence - Experience driving vehicles over 18 tonnes, OR
• Bus/Coach Driver - Minimum 2 years experience, ideally including double-deck vehicles, OR
• 7.5 Tonne Driver - Minimum 2 years experience

Desirable Experience

• Previous airside driving experience, particularly on vehicles over 18 tonnes
• Experience working in regulated or high-security environments

• Good level of physical fitness essential
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High sense of ownership and responsibility
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety compliance at all times

Security & Compliance Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be able to provide:

• HMRC 5-year employment history (official PAYE/employment record)
• Full 5-year address history
• Right to Work in the UK
• DBS check
• Satisfactory references covering any employment gaps

HMRC employment history must clearly show all employment and any gaps over the last 5 years. This is a mandatory requirement for airside pass approval.
