As a Children's Support Worker, you'll be a vital part of our commitment to providing a safe and supportive space for children. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Offering compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities.
• Helping children develop essential life skills and boost their overall well-being.
• Putting care plans and behaviour management strategies into action, tailored just for them.
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for everyone.
• Keeping accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations - the details matter!
• Working hand-in-hand with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure the best holistic care.
• Responding to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and a whole lot of understanding.
• Upholding the highest standards of care and championing all safeguarding policies and procedures.

To be our next superstar Support Worker, you'll ideally have:

• A valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle for getting around the North East.
• Essential experience working in Residential Children's Homes and supporting children who have experienced childhood trauma.
• Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts.
• A commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week.
• Proof of your Right to Work in the UK.
• Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
• The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years.

• Experience: 1 year minimum experience in the UK as a support worker
• Skills: Childcare experience, patience, and empathy are key!
• Professional Knowledge: Child protection and behaviour management are essential.
• Qualifications: A relevant childcare qualification or equivalent experience is a big plus.

P.S. This role mandates a minimum of 36.5 hours per week. Therefore, we're unable to accept applications from individuals with a Student or Skilled Worker visa, as the visa requirements may conflict with these hours.
