Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for an opportunity to lead a high-quality residential service supporting adults with complex needs? About the role
We are recruiting a Registered Manager to oversee a single adult residential service in Truro, supporting up to five individuals with high and complex needs. The service provides care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge, within a safe, structured, and homely environment.
As Registered Manager, you will hold full accountability for the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring compliance, quality, and positive outcomes for the people supported. You will lead and develop a dedicated staff team, including Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, and Senior Support Workers, and ensure the service consistently meets regulatory and organisational standards. The role includes participation in an on-call rota, which is incorporated into the salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall operational leadership and management of the residential service
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with regulatory standards
- Maintain full compliance with CQC requirements, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations
- Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team through coaching, performance management, and training
- Oversee recruitment, staffing levels, and effective workforce planning
- Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of resources
- Use digital systems to monitor quality assurance, incidents, training, and occupancy
- Build strong relationships with external professionals and agencies to support placements and outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement through reflective practice and service development
About You
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within adult social care
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex or challenging behaviours
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and best practice in residential care
- Confident, values-led leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Passionate about delivering empowering, person-centred support
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent)
- Registered with the CQC or eligible to register as a Registered Manager
- Experience managing services supporting adults with high and complex needs
- Good IT skills, including experience with digital care and quality management systems
- Full UK driving licence preferred, with access to a vehicle for commuting and training purposes
