We are recruiting on behalf of a Bedford-based specialist manufacturer of conservation boxes and storage products. Our client is looking for an experienced Platen Operator to join their production team, with die-cutting experience being essential for this role.

The role

The primary focus of this position is the operation of die-cutting platens, including Heidelberg die-cutters. You will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining quality standards throughout the die-cutting process.

In addition to platen work, you may also be involved in other production activities, such as:

Wire stitching and riveting

Paper and board laminating

Computerised box design and cutting (Kasemake)

Polyester converting and slitting

Specialist plastic welding

This is a varied, hands-on role within a small but well-established manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate

Proven experience operating die-cutting platens (essential)

Background in carton, packaging, or board-based manufacturing preferred

Strong attention to detail and quality

Flexible approach and willingness to support other production processes

Forklift licence and driving licence are advantageous but not essential

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary: 25,000- 30,000 per year (depending on experience)
