Escape is working with an established manufacturing business in Fife who are looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing Manager. This is a key role and the Purchasing Manager will ensure materials are available to meet production demands.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Leading and mentor a small purchasing team
• Working with planning and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels
• Processing purchase orders and ensuring materials are available for production
• Maintaining accurate MRP data - pricing and inventory levels
• Build strong supplier relationships to protect lead times and minimise supply disruption
• Driving continuous improvement across procurement processes
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards and regulatory requirements

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

• Solid purchasing experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience in managing successful teams
• Experienced in using MRP systems
• Solid understanding of BOMs, inventory management and forecasting
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and Suppliers
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a track record of improving processes
