Location: Maidenhead Country: UK Rate: £39k - £42k per annum

Location: Maidenhead, 2 days a week in the office, 3 from home
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Starting from £39,000, depending on skills and experience
Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is an organisation dedicated to honouring and caring for the graves and memorials of servicemen who died in the two World Wars. The work of the Commission is not only in our global operations, but in our Head Office too, which contributes to the meaningful commemoration of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We work in over 150 countries and included in our care are monuments and memorials with cultural and historical significance.

What you'll be doing
You will be an integral part of ensuring the organisations beautiful cemeteries and memorials stand the test of time. You'll do this by advising the operational teams how to best manage our historic estate sustainably. You'll advise best conservation practices by carrying out research, understanding local requirements, and keeping ahead of legislative changes.

What you need to have

  • A relevant degree/qualification or relevant involvement in conservation/heritage
  • Experience in the conservation and care of either historic estates, landscapes, and/or buildings
  • Extensive experience of in-depth archival research and report writing
  • Experience of working with internal and external specialists across a multi-cultural organisation
