Description
- Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify damp and mould issues.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommended actions.
- Advise on solutions to rectify and prevent damp and mould problems.
- Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure timely repairs.
- Monitor the progress of remedial works and ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and completed works.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the property management team.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout all activities.
- Lead on building inspections relating to disrepair, damp, mould, and condensation issues within the housing stock.
- Provide expert diagnosis and recommend remedial works, ensuring that all advice is technically sound and in line with legislation and internal policies.
- Prepare detailed reports to support legal disrepair cases in line with Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Act as a technical advisor to internal teams, legal departments, and external solicitors, and attend court where required.
- Oversee and review contractor performance, ensuring repairs and remedial works are completed to standard and within required timeframes.
- Provide clear communication to residents, managing expectations and maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant building regulations, legislation, and best practice, particularly relating to social housing and fitness for human habitation.
Profile
- MRICS or FRICS qualified (essential).
- Strong background in building surveying within the social housing sector.
- Proven experience managing disrepair and damp & mould cases, with sound understanding of relevant legislation.
- Excellent diagnostic, report writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and communicate technical information clearly.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
