Pay Rate: £271.57 per day PAYE
Hours per week: 35-37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 6-7 months

The ERP Procurement Lead will play a key role in supporting and optimising procurement operations within a local government environment. The postholder will provide expert knowledge across ERP procurement systems, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant procurement data and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support procurement activity within ERP systems, ensuring alignment with local government policies and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain and oversee procurement and contract data, including Contract Register databases, within a regulated environment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and associated governance and audit requirements.
  • Analyse, reconcile, and validate complex procurement and contract data from multiple sources.
  • Produce reports and insights using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and associated tools to support decision-making.
  • Act as a key liaison between procurement, finance, IT, and wider stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Operate effectively in a high-pressure environment, remaining flexible to meet changing business needs and deadlines.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Essential: Strong knowledge of local government procurement processes and associated systems.
  • Proven experience with SAP Ariba and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Sound understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and public sector compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with Contract Register databases in regulated or public sector environments.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and related analytical tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to track down, assimilate, and reconcile complex datasets accurately.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform effectively under pressure.
