Senior Technical Programme Manager
Leading Retail Client | £675 per day inside IR35 | 2 days per week on-site
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Technical Programme Manager to drive the execution of product solutions across multiple domains within our client's Data Delivery Team. You'll work within Data Technology, overseeing product development life-cycles and programmes of work, partnering with Engineering and Product teams to deliver innovative solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sophisticated, multi-disciplinary initiatives within a product-led organisation
- Manage product/programme execution, providing visibility and transparency through appropriate cadence and tools
- Create roadmaps and OKRs with Product Managers and engineering teams, ensuring alignment to strategic ambitions
- Own technical development and release strategy; escalate key risks and issues to senior stakeholders
- Drive proactive dependency management between Product functions to deliver integrated solutions
- Manage technology budgets and drive value for money
- Build trusted relationships and lead contractual obligations with vendors and external partners
- Support DevOps adoption, incident triage, and operational success
- Line management responsibilities including coaching and 360 feedback
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Software Development or Technical Product/Programme Management in a Retail environment
- Proven track record delivering large-scale initiatives across multiple teams and functions
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scaled Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps)
- Strong leadership and coaching skills in lean agile practices
- Experience defining and managing outcome-led product/programme delivery
- Strong financial and commercial acumen including budget management and contractual discussions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Facilitation techniques, Design Thinking, coaching frameworks
- Knowledge of engineering practices (BDD, XP, Agile Testing, CI/CD)
