We are seeking an experienced Paint Shop Team Leader to take ownership of our client s paint shop operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead from the front, delivering high-quality powder coating and wet spray finishes while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will play a key role in developing the paint shop into a centre of excellence, ensuring production targets are met and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Ownership

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the paint shop
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of paint shop operatives
  • Plan and allocate work to meet production schedules and priorities
  • Set and maintain high standards of workmanship, organisation, and discipline
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, quality, and efficiency

Technical & Production

  • Carry out powder coating and wet spraying to a high industrial standard
  • Prepare, mask, and inspect components prior to coating
  • Operate and maintain spray booths, ovens, and paint equipment
  • Perform aluminium pre-treatment processes including Iridite NCP (training provided)
  • Work to SOPs, technical data sheets, and safety data sheets
  • Monitor production progress and report issues or overruns

Quality

  • Ensure all finishes meet specification and quality requirements
  • Carry out in-process quality checks and maintain accurate records
  • Investigate defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Promote a right first time quality culture

What We re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in powder coating and wet spraying within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Paint Sprayer
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
