We are seeking a Design Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation to support the delivery of multiple new product development projects and ongoing engineering activities.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role will involve taking products from concept through to production, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and testing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop products using SolidWorks CAD (Creo desirable)
• Produce design and test specifications
• Create concepts, prototypes, and costing data
• Support tooling design, supplier quotations, and outsourced engineering
• Manage electrical and mechanical testing activities
• Develop and validate assembly and construction methods
• Modify existing products to meet customer or regulatory requirements
• Support CE/UKCA compliance documentation
• Analyse competitor products and market trends

Experience Required:

• Strong experience using SolidWorks for 3D modelling and surfacing
• Background in product or lighting design
• HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or Product Design
• Experience managing projects independently
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Proficient in MS Office
• Optical design software, Relux or DIALux experience advantageous
• Well organised, detail-focused, and a strong team player
• Flexible and proactive approach
