Do you have what it takes to help young people develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in life?

Take your youth work experience to the next level and lead a team that's giving young people the support they need as they transition to adulthood.

About the team

HCC Services for Young People providers youth work, careers education information advice guidance, work related learning, work experience and the review and maintenance of education health and care plans for young people post-16/post school.

Our vision for young people is clear. We want young people to succeed, and by working for us you'll be key to enable this to happen.

About the role

Your focus will be leading the delivery of targeted early evening youth work projects for vulnerable young people, helping them overcome challenges and thrive.

By offering early intervention, you will help prevent issues from escalating and affecting young people's daily lives, health, development, or safety. Your work will make a real and lasting difference.

We are seeking candidates who can quickly build positive, trusting relationships with diverse groups of young people and adapt flexibly to their needs and the priorities of the service. If you are passionate about empowering young people and committed to creating opportunities for them to succeed, we want to hear from you.

About you

Essential:

  • Recent experience of working with young people.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and planning.
  • Ability to work regular evenings in line with JNC terms and conditions.
  • Confident in using ICT.
  • Previous line management experience is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence & regular access to a vehicle.

HCC Services for Young People works with vulnerable young people to address emerging needs, improve life chances, and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive services. This includes supporting those challenged in education, their community or home life, to ensure a successful transition to adulthood. The young people are typically 11-17 and up to 25 for Care Leavers and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time for this role.
