About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is enthusiastic about early primary education and committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting children as they transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1, helping them build strong foundations in their learning and personal development. You will work closely with a supportive staff team to ensure pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Lesson Planning:
Plan and deliver engaging, interactive lessons tailored to the needs of Year 1 pupils, in line with the National Curriculum.

Inclusive Teaching:
Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support all learners, ensuring every child can access the curriculum and succeed.

Encouraging Participation:
Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment where children feel confident, motivated, and eager to learn.

Assessment and Feedback:
Monitor pupil progress through ongoing assessment, providing constructive feedback and identifying next steps for learning.

Differentiation:
Adapt lessons to support varying abilities, ensuring appropriate challenge and support for all pupils.

Classroom Management:
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-structured classroom where children feel secure and valued.

Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support each child s holistic development.

Parent Communication:
Maintain clear and regular communication with parents regarding progress, achievements, and any concerns.

Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing professional development to remain up to date with best practice and curriculum developments.

What We re Looking For

Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience:
Experience teaching Year 1 or within a primary school setting is desirable.

Skills:
Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, effective behaviour management, and a passion for early primary education.

Attributes:
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting young children s development.

Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
