Business Support Officer, Full time, £15.35 per hour, Ballymena or Carrickfergus

You will be joining a busy Major Projects team within a respected public sector organisation responsible for delivering high profile regeneration and development initiatives, including the City Deal Programme and the regeneration of St Patrick's Barracks. The team operates across multiple sites and works collaboratively with internal departments, external stakeholders, government bodies and community groups to deliver effective, high quality services.
Your new role
As Business Support Officer, you will provide professional, wide ranging administrative support to the Major Projects team. Working in a fast paced environment, you will ensure day to day administrative tasks are completed efficiently, accurately and to a high standard. Key duties include:
Handling incoming emails, calls and enquiries, taking appropriate follow up actionProviding frontline support to the public, community groups and external organisationsPreparing agendas, presentations, reports and other project materialsAttending meetings to record and issue minutesOrganising training sessions, events and meetings, ensuring all logistics and equipment are in placeManaging administrative processes for invoices, purchase orders and paymentsAssisting with production of marketing and promotional materialsUpdating project information on the relevant Council webpagesSupporting the delivery of Social Value plans across projectsLiaising with internal departments, government bodies and other stakeholders to facilitate project deliveryThis is a temporary post for 3 months, based in either Carrickfergus or Ballymena (location agreed with the successful candidate). Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet service needs.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will need:
5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalentAt least one year's relevant Business Support experience in a busy office environment, including: Using computerised information management systemsProviding frontline customer serviceManaging high volumes of work and prioritising effectivelyA qualification demonstrating competent word processing/database skills or one year's experience using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel in particular)Strong skills across MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookExcellent organisation, communication and customer service skillsThe ability to work proactively, meet deadlines and support multiple projects simultaneouslyCandidates without the listed GCSEs may also be considered if they can demonstrate three years' relevant experience meeting the above criteria.
