Hays Senior Finance is exclusively partnering with a £50M turnover organisation, to appoint a Group Financial Controller that combines the complexity of a global structure with the agility of an SME.

This company operates across multiple time zones with 11 international subsidiaries. While the group structure resembles that of a much larger organisation, the culture remains hands-on and entrepreneurial. This role is ideal for someone who understands corporate controls and international reporting, but can also thrive in a smaller, fast-paced environment.
What Makes This Role Unique?

• Global Reach, SME Feel: Subsidiaries are typically under £2M, but the structure is complex and international.
• High-Impact Leadership: You'll lead IFRS reporting, ERP optimisation, cashflow forecasting, and company secretarial matters.
• Tech-Forward Finance: The business is evolving its systems and analytics-your Power BI and Excel skills will be key.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group accounting and ensure accurate reporting under IFRS.
• Manage cashflow forecasting, treasury, and working capital.
• Drive ERP improvements (distribution/manufacturing focus) and inventory management.
• Provide company secretarial oversight, including tax, pensions, and contract review.
• Champion data analytics and reporting tools to elevate the finance function.
• Support and coach local finance teams, embedding best practices.

What We're Looking For

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong post-qualification experience.
• Exposure to international reporting and IFRS, ideally from audit or corporate finance.
• Hands-on ERP experience, especially in manufacturing/distribution.
• Strong Excel and Power BI skills.
• Experience in owner-managed, investor-led, PE-backed, or fast-paced SME environments.
• A collaborative leader with both technical expertise and adaptability.
