Senior SEND Caseworker
Location: 2nd Floor, Nutgrove Villa, Westmorland Road, Huyton, L36 6GA

Contract Duration: 3months +
Working Hours: Mon Fri, 09 00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 41.70 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of SEND Caseworkers.

• Support the SEND Team Manager and step in when needed.

• Manage and improve team performance and handle complex cases.

• Ensure the team follows laws, regulations, and Knowsley policies.

• Handle complaints, conduct staff training, and drive team development.

• Oversee statutory assessments and Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP).

• Support educational provision for children and young people with SEND.

• Ensure effective service delivery and performance.

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND.

• Coordinate assessments and write person-centered EHC plans.

• Participate in mediation and prepare tribunal cases.

• Ensure confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws.

• Conduct risk assessments and follow health and safety policies.

Person Specifications

• Must Have:

  • Experience leading and managing a team.

  • Knowledge of SEND legislation and procedures.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle complex cases and make decisions.

  • Experience in writing and quality assuring EHC plans.

• Nice to Have:

  • Experience in mediation and tribunal preparation.

  • Familiarity with Knowsley policies and procedures.
