Tax Manager 6 month FTC St Albans Hertforshire ACA ACCA CTA ATT

My client is a leading, listed, pharmaceutical company, with a global reach. A new opportunity is available to support the Head of Tax on a 6-month contract. This role is a critical piece within the tax team, for UK and Irish tax obligations.

Your new role
You will:

• Act as a strategic partner, advising on tax implications for projects, transactions, and business initiatives.
• Oversee UK and Irish tax compliance processes, with a strong focus on VAT and Corporation Tax.
• Ensure robust governance and maintain the integrity of tax control frameworks.
• Lead tax input on high-value projects and change programs.
• Implement global tax policies and transfer pricing methodologies.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Support accurate and timely tax reporting for statutory and group accounts.

What you'll need to succeed

• Significant experience in tax within a multinational organisation or professional services environment.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of UK VAT and Corporation Tax; familiarity with Irish tax is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems (eg, SAP) and common business applications.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a day rate dependent on experience of up to £600 per day. Flexible working options are available, along with hybrid working of 2 days in the office.
