We are currently recruiting on behalf of a £1Bn turnover Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Site Agent to join an ongoing civils and groundworks scheme in West Clandon, Surrey.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a market-leading contractor on a well-established project.

The Role

As Sub Agent, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and coordinating civils and groundworks operations on site

• Overseeing subcontractors, labour and plant

• Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times

• Driving programme and resolving site issues

• Liaising with the Project Manager, engineers and commercial team

• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress

Requirements:

• Coordinating subcontractors,
• Monitoring progress, productivity, and performance against the programme.
• Assisting with site planning, including short-term lookaheads and resource allocation.
• Ensuring compliance with HSQE policies and standards.
• Issuing permits (like permits to break ground) and managing safe excavation.
• Producing and maintaining quality records, checksheets, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Supporting risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Contributing to internal and client reports and progress meetings.
• Supporting cost tracking and change management.
• Liaising with the wider site team, clients, and subcontractors.
• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a positive team environment.
• Driving efficiency through value engineering.
