The Sr. GenAI Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying custom workflows and applications that leverage LLMs (OpenAI GPT models). This person will help advance and modernize the firm and team's use of Generative AI technologies. This person will also be developing and deploying proof-of-concept applications as well as supporting production use of LLMs in custom applications.
This is a remote position resident in the San Francisco Bay area.
Pursuant to California regulation, the salary range for this position is $213,100 to $260,400, contingent on relevant experience and education, and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and maintaining GenAI solutions including RAG-based chat, document summarization, data extraction, and custom workflows.
- Responsible for collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate GenAI solutions into products and services.
- Responsible for conducting research and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in GenAI.
- Responsible for optimizing and fine-tuning GenAI pipelines for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
- Responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements including process automation, optimizations, and scalability enhancements.
- Responsible for creating and fine-tuning prompts (prompt engineering).
- Responsible for working on end-to-end AI projects, from custom Python LLM pipelines to deployment of apps via Streamlit.
- Responsible for collaborating with the firm's custom application development team and DevOps to move POC apps to enterprise-grade applications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Python.
- 3+ years of experience with Azure Databricks and other Azure services.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL (SSMS preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in GenAI workflow development (OpenAI GPT models preferred).
- 2+ years of experience with prompt engineering.
- 2+ years of experience implementing RAG architectures.
- 2+ years of experience building and using vector databases.2+ years of experience with large-scale NLP.
- Demonstrates advanced working knowledge of GenAI technologies including LLM, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Demonstrates advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
- Demonstrates experience deploying Python-based applications via Streamlit to Databricks Apps, Azure Web Apps, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured text data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and PySpark.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Streamlit experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Master's degree in a quantitative field a plus.
