About Patch

A livable future depends on climate solutions - and those solutions need funding to scale. There is a financial mechanism powerful enough to help drive climate solutions to gigatonne-scale and beyond: carbon credits.

Patch combines technology and carbon markets expertise to help companies build and execute their carbon credit strategies. Our platform supports buyers with defining or refining their approach to the voluntary carbon market, and executing on their goals with high-integrity projects. We have helped hundreds of companies meet their sustainability goals while accelerating climate solutions.

About Position

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the development and enhancement of the products and systems that power the Patch climate platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, contributing to the product roadmap and setting forward-looking goals. Your efforts in interpreting, designing, implementing, and iterating on these pillars will be crucial to our mission, driving innovation and sustainability at Patch.

What You'll Do
  • Build end-to-end experiences for buyers and sellers of carbon credits on the Patch platform, making it as easy as possible for players of all sizes to participate in the climate economy.
  • Design product-oriented systems from first principles: know the difference between when a proof-of-concept is optimal versus when building for scalability is warranted.
  • Serve as a technical steward and advocate for Patch's systems, always with a strategic focus on ensuring their future success.
  • Work through problems with your team, roll up your sleeves, form an opinion, and advocate for engineering-specific roadmap items.
  • Strategize and collaborate with other Patch teammates on teams like Product, Design, and GTM, to provide the best product possible to our users.
  • Offer insightful feedback on fellow engineers' designs and code, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Enhance the quality and robustness of the code for the Patch Platform, ensuring it meets high standards of performance and reliability.
Who You Are
  • You have a minimum 6+ years of direct experience in software engineering.
  • You have proven experience in delivering end-to-end product experiences either on small teams or in fast-paced startup environments.
  • You have experience in or are willing and able to learn Ruby on Rails.
  • You have significant experience in driving end-to-end execution with minimal guidance.
  • You are able to implement and write code that is clear, concise and tested.
  • You are able to clearly communicate and collaborate on technical topics across teams and departments.
  • You have a commitment to technical excellence, raising the bar, and delivering results.
  • You have experience assisting and teaching other engineers through 1:1 sessions or providing feedback.
Why Patch
  • Work with the most talented team in climate tech.
  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity.
  • Monthly wellness stipend for mental and physical health.
  • Time-off as-needed vacation policy.
  • Generous parental leave policy.
