Join Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Service Line

This practice, located within ECG's Strategy & Growth Division, focuses on providing clients with a comprehensive suite of M&A advisory services. This includes buy- and sell-side transaction support, strategic options analysis, target selection and evaluation, transaction facilitation and negotiation, due diligence support, and post-transaction integration support.

Your Opportunity with ECG: Senior Manager

As a senior manager at ECG, you will be a key member of our consulting team, directly supporting the firm's leadership. You will partner with some of the industry's best, make a positive impact on the US healthcare system, and grow personally and professionally while doing so.

Senior manager at ECG is a significant leadership position within the firm, serving as a stepping-stone to the role of partner, which offers the opportunity to own equity in the firm. A senior manager is on the path to becoming, or has already emerged as, an industry thought leader capable of managing and selling complex engagements with superior client relationship-management skills.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build and lead the financial due diligence function within our M&A team. You will shape processes, drive strategic insights, and ensure rigorous financial evaluation and quality of earnings analysis.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Leading engagements and assuming ultimate responsibility for high-quality client deliverables.
  • Working with the client to articulate complex issues requiring attention and strategizing with consultant teams on the project approach.
  • Leading project teams by executing work plans; providing direction, timeline, and budget management; and facilitating data-gathering and problem-solving processes.
  • Leading meetings and presentations for client leadership.
  • Overseeing the design and implementation of recommended solutions.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff, writing and delivering performance reviews, and assisting with recruiting new consultants.
  • Contributing to firm growth by identifying and pursuing follow-on and new business opportunities.
  • Managing the preparation of complex proposals.
  • Establishing and sharing thought leadership and deep subject matter expertise.
  • Being a leader within the firm and contributing to the firm's culture and success.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry
  • Progressive experience in healthcare financial due diligence and transaction advisory services
  • Experience preparing detailed reports and performing complex analyses, including the analysis of cash flows, quality of assets and earnings, working capital, potential liabilities and risks, and the impact of findings on the purchase price of the target organization
  • Experience advising clients on how to maximize opportunities and minimize risks related to M&A and providing recommendations in the context of deal structuring alternatives
  • Demonstrated record of solving complex problems, directing and managing individuals, and completing challenging projects
  • Track record of managing multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets and schedules, and accounts receivable
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in selling and managing engagements
  • Recognized as a thought leader through marketing activities such as networking with potential clients, participating in professional societies, and publishing and presenting thought leadership (whitepapers, speeches, and articles)
  • Demonstrated focus on staff development, coaching, and retention, with a refined ability to provide constructive and timely feedback
  • Master's degree in business administration and/or a health-related field; bachelor's degree in business or a health-related field preferred
  • CPA required
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Ability to travel at least 60% of the time

Job Locations

  • Preferred locations: Chicago, Minneapolis, or San Diego
  • Other locations: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, or Washington D.C.
  • Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office when not traveling for a client engagement

The estimated base salary range for this job is $205,000 - $232,000 annually. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG's pay-for-performance philosophy. The job is also eligible to participate in ECG's benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) matching program; unlimited PTO; and other wellness programs.
