The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include calibration and operation of ultrasound equipment and coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals.

• Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of ultrasound procedures
• Correlates ultrasound procedures with patient medical history
• Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures adequate stock of supplies by placing orders

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED is required
• Vocational/Technical Diploma, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required

• 2 years Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer experience is required.

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Sonography Certification - ARRT (S) required
• BLS from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required
