Join Riverside Health's cardiothoracic surgery program based at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. RRMC is the region's only Level II Trauma Center, supporting a high-acuity patient population with immediate access to advanced imaging, surgical services, and critical care. Cardiothoracic and thoracic surgical procedures are performed in the Pavilion at Riverside Regional Medical Center, a modern surgical facility featuring 11 fully equipped operating rooms. The program provides a full range of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, and advanced thoracic cases. Riverside has also invested in advanced minimally invasive and robotic technology, including the da Vinci Xi platform, and maintains collaborative relationships with UVA Health for advanced cardiovascular care. Qualifications
- MD or DO, completion of ACGME Cardiothoracic Surgery program, BC or BE
- Demonstrated proficiency in adult cardiac and general thoracic surgical procedures, including pre- and post-operative care
- Experience with procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and thoracic surgeries
- Familiarity with advanced and minimally invasive techniques (eg, robotics, TAVR, thoracic aortic disease)
- Strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, and excellent clinical decision-making capabilities
- Ability to document medical care appropriately and efficiently
