The VA Central Texas Health Care System is seeking Radiology Diagnostic (Deputy Chief) for Imaging Service at the Austin VA Clinic.

Physicians should apply to CAZM-12843483-26-JMS. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Podiatrist Basic Requirements
  • Degree as a doctor of podiatric medicine, or its equivalent, from a school of podiatric medicine approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Approved schools are United States schools of podiatric medicine approved by the Council on Podiatry Education of the American Podiatry Association in the year in which the degree was granted.
  • Completed, or currently completing, residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. VA Podiatrists involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status. Approved residencies are:
    • Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, in the list published for the year the residency was completed.
    • Other residencies and training experiences, or their equivalents, which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training.
  • Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
  • English Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience
  • Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology
  • One year in a leadership or supervisory position
  • Well-rounded and experienced physician capable of interpreting a wide gamut of CT, MRI, Diagnostic Ultrasound, GI/GU
  • One year of experience in healthcare administration

Physical Requirements

This position primarily sedentary in nature. Radiologists interpret and/or perform a wide variety of diagnostic imaging examinations. Radiologists spend most of their day in offices with dim lighting, looking at monitors, voice dictation, typing, using phones and printers. Light lifting, under 15 pounds; Use of fingers; Both hands required; Walking (1 hr); Standing (1 hr); Near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; Both eyes required; Ability to distinguish basic colors; Ability to distinguish shades of colors; Hearing (aid may be permitted)
