Position Summary: Responsibilities include administering and managing anesthesia as part of the process before, during and after surgery. Evaluates patients and their medical history prior to surgery, including prescription medicine, over-the-counter medicine and herbal supplements.

Responsibilities
Administer and manage anesthesia before, during and after surgical procedures - evaluating patients and their medical history to ensure safe and effective care.
Job Requirement
Education/Experience: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine, completion of an Anesthesiology Residency from an accredited institution and three (3) years of clinical practice in anesthesiology. Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid License by State of Nevada to practice medicine, State of Nevada Pharmacy Board License to Prescribe Medications and DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate. Some positions may require one or more of the following certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional Position Requirements
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- Fellowship or Board Certified in Pediatrics is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Physical Requirements
Knowledge of adult and pediatric care, equipment, supplies and practices; federal, state, local and accreditation laws, regulations and standards; clinical operations; principles and practices of medical care management; quality assurance and performance improvement; safety practices and procedures; patient rights and infection control policies. Skills include effective provision of medical care, assessment and improvement of medical care quality, development of goals and policies, leadership, decision-making under stress, problem-solving, communication, and safe use of equipment. Physical requirements: stand for long periods, stamina for extended concentration, vision for reading printed materials, hearing and speech for communication, strength to exert up to 10 pounds of force.
