Job Description
This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and provide patient-centered solutions. All activities must comply with AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed expectations.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns effectively to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations, building trusted relationships and achieving win-win agreements.
- Execute call plans that meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales expertise. Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and maintain relationships with disease-state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (or equivalent industry experience). High school diploma/GED required.
- At least five (5) years of pharmaceutical/health/science industry experience; three (3) or more years of experience is preferred.
- Proven track record of sales success and strong presentation skills. Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior.
- Influences others and is viewed as a credible role model. Builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and Matrix teams.
- Documented success in leadership or support roles with increased responsibilities at district, region, or organizational levels.
- Preferred: Proven success in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Proficient English language skills (verbal and written).
- Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities within the assigned territory.
- Responsible for ensuring all HCIR credentialing requirements are met, including background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state or city licenses.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking; can operate effectively in a Matrix environment.
- Driving a personal auto or company vehicle, or a powered material handling equipment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
Key Stakeholders
External: Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other stakeholders depending on brand plan.
Internal: In-field team members, sales management (DSM), marketing management, training, customer excellence, and brand plan stakeholders.

- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes, in good faith, it will pay for this role. Individual compensation will vary based on factors such as geography.
