HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking an experienced neurosurgeon to join their well-respected and busy American College of Surgeons-verified Level I Trauma Center. The neurosurgeon will work in the Department of Trauma to provide trauma neurosurgical care. There is APP support as well as a full-service line dedicated to trauma patients in the ICU and the floor. Clinical research is optional but available. Opportunity to participate as affiliate faculty with the University of Central Florida to teach residents and medical students is also optional but available.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Board certified/eligible in neurosurgery
  • Spine fellowship trained with experience in trauma neurosurgery, capable of performing complex spine surgery
  • The provider will mainly focus on trauma neurosurgery, including:
    • Hospital-based
    • Under the trauma department
    • Managing neuro trauma alerts
    • Trauma consults
    • Follow-up clinic management
    • Participating in peer review, program improvement, trauma center survey verification/designation, and quality rounds
  • Share the month with another dedicated trauma neurosurgeon with APP support
  • HCA Florida Ocala Hospital's trauma program is the area's only ACS-verified Level 1 trauma center serving 5 counties and over 1 million residents. It is also a teaching hospital for the University of Central Florida and hosts the UCF/HCA residency consortium.
