A growing YC-backed startup is looking for a Founding Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale its AI-powered intelligent automation platform. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge LLM-based systems, influence product and platform strategy, and contribute directly to shaping an early-stage engineering organization.

The role is hybrid: 4 days onsite in San Francisco, with Tuesdays remote.

As a Founding Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling the core systems that power the company's AI automation platform. You will work across the stack, from Back End APIs and data pipelines to LLM orchestration and Front End workflows, designing and deploying agentic AI components that handle reasoning, extraction, and decision-making at scale. You will collaborate with customers to deliver production-ready solutions, contribute to platform strategy, and help define engineering standards and best practices.

• Build and scale end-to-end systems for AI-driven workflow automation
• Design, implement, and deploy LLM-powered components in production
• Collaborate with product and customer teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Influence architecture, platform strategy, and technical decision-making
• Mentor and support other engineers in a high-trust, autonomous environment

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in fast-paced startups
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM- or agent-based systems in production
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, Go, Node, or Python
• Demonstrated ability to own projects end-to-end, from design to deployment
• Exceptional technical judgment and ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term impact
• Strong curiosity for applied AI, logistics, or complex operational problems
