Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon
Position in US-OR-Portland, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation, OHSU. The appointee provides teaching, research, patient care in pediatric orthopedics.
Department OverviewThe appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The surgeon actively participates in education, research, patient care and administrative programs within Pediatric Orthopedics, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. The position actively participates in all aspects of clinical care of patients as outlined by the Surgeon-in-Chief for Doernbecher Children's Hospital and the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.
Function/Duties of Position- Clinical director role: Work with Surgeon-in-Chief to develop clinical and operative schedule. Inpatient, outpatient and surgical services for general orthopedic surgical services at Doernbecher Children's Hospital with specialty focus. Experience in all aspects of pediatric orthopedic surgery accepted. Call as assigned with other faculty on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Education: Instruction of medical students and residents in clinical setting and assigned lectures. Teaching assignments from Director of Education.
- Research: Resources available for start-up research and ongoing support.
- Administration: Administrative and other duties assigned based on needs within Department of Orthopedics and Doernbecher Children's Hospital and areas of expertise and interest. Opportunities to participate in departmental management and serve on hospital/institutional committees.
M.D. or equivalent degree/training; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; completion of a Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship. Must be Board Certified, or reach Board Certification approval within one year of hire. Valid Oregon Medical License.
