Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Operations
A well-established consumer products company undergoing strategic transformation is looking to identify a strategically oriented and hands on stand alone FP&A Manager or Senior FP&A, Operations professional to support a global, financially driven overhaul. The ideal FP&A background, with senior or managerial level, must be one with a strong focus on gross margin optimization, supply chain economics, and data-driven decision-making across production, logistics, and distribution.
This role reports directly to the Head of FP&A and plays a critical role in helping to re-strategize the business through deep financial insight into gross margin performance. The position owns and oversees FP&A activities related to production, inventory, logistics, and distribution, with a sharp focus on understanding where value is created-or lost-across the end-to-end operating model.
The ideal candidate brings experience from public accounting or consulting, with a strong emphasis on inventory-driven businesses such as retail, wholesale, or textile/apparel environments.
Core Responsibilities- Own and oversee FP&A operations related to gross margin management across production, sourcing, logistics, and inventory
- Analyze and monitor margin drivers across retail and wholesale channels
- Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and production teams to evaluate cost structures and performance
- Develop detailed financial models to assess profitability by product, channel, and geography
- Support financial control, analysis, and reporting to provide clear visibility into operational economics
- Identify margin improvement opportunities and support strategic decision-making
- Challenge existing processes and assumptions using data-driven insights
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise manner
- Background in FP&A, public accounting, or consulting, with exposure to inventory-based businesses
- Experience supporting or advising retail, wholesale, consumer goods, or textile/apparel organizations
- Strong understanding of gross margin mechanics, inventory flow, and supply chain economics
- CPA strongly preferred
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
- Ability to navigate complex data sets and translate analysis into actionable insights
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high visibility
