Chief Financial Officer
Our client in Denver, CO, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of corporate finance, accounting, and financial operations as a senior executive.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and executive team, driving financial planning, performance, and strategy.
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute financial strategies that align with business objectives.
- Develop long-term financial models, forecasts, and KPIs to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
- Advise on capital structure, mergers and acquisitions, funding opportunities, and investment strategies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis across all business units.
- Identify revenue growth opportunities and operational efficiencies to improve margins.
- Monitor performance metrics, perform variance analysis, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Supervise the Controller and oversee accounting operations, monthly closings, and audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements that comply with GAAP, tax, and regulatory standards.
- Strengthen internal controls to mitigate risk and enhance data accuracy.
- Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and banking relationships.
- Develop financial policies for effective treasury operations, debt management, and working capital optimization.
- Manage organizational risk assessment, insurance policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining financial transparency.
- Partner with legal and audit teams to ensure sound governance and ethical standards.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive company-wide financial literacy and performance awareness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including proven success as a CFO or senior finance executive.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, corporate finance, and budget management.
- Experience leading accounting teams and managing a Controller.
- Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Paycom, etc.).
- Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills with hands-on operational expertise.
- Experience in retail, multi-location operations, or high-growth environments.
- Background in leading ERP implementations or finance system transformations.
