HAKS is seeking an Office Engineer who will provide technical & administrative support to the project team. The Office Engineer will be responsible for supporting senior staff and for the design and management of a wide variety of possible engineering projects.
Responsibilities include but are limited to:
  • Provide administrative support for projects in all stages of the planning, design and construction process.
  • Discuss necessary requirements and specializations with clients and professionals to determine the scope of work and the project program.
  • Carry out site investigations, field tests etc and report findings to the senior staff.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design
  • Carry out civil engineering design, preparing drawings in accordance with the CAD Standards and where necessary, provide information to drafting staff in order to produce finished construction documents for permit and bid packages.
  • Acting as Client Point-of-Contact for all matters relating to any jobs/tasks for which you are the nominated Job Manager. This demands the ability to consult and communicate effectively and in a proactive manner.
  • Assist the team and clients with analysis of specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required content of estimates.
  • Judge whether the projects are feasible by studying costs, time and material requirements and articulate results in reports
  • Support the project team members and clients with the preparation and maintenance of construction schedules.
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track, post and distribute RFIs, and change orders. Receive, prepare, review, process, forward and track status of shop drawing submittals.
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs.
  • Keep-up daily work reports.
  • Track, document and manage project issues and conditions.
  • Attend project meetings and record meeting minutes.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly project status reports.
  • Assist and review project payment requisitions
  • Assist and prepare project close-out documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture required.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida preferred with the ability to achieve full license within 1 year of employment.
  • Experience in Florida vertical and infrastructure projects required
  • Must have two (2) years of Full time experience in either project management, engineering design, construction, operations and administration, or related field.
  • Able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Advanced experience in AutoCad and Revit wwith the ability to prepare engineering construction documents
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office with the ability to manipulate and edit data and create reports Proven oral and written communication skills and the ability to compose correspondence and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cooperate effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Motivated, self-starter, patient and able to work independently.
  • Results oriented.
