Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group/Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California's only standalone women's hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, a 206-bed not-for-profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.

• Shift rate: $2,500/shift (12 hrs)
• PAID Malpractice and Tail coverage
• Hospital shifts: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• 2-night shifts per week considered full-time
• Clinic shifts: 8:00 am-5:00 pm (optional)
• Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service with dedicated OB anesthesia
• Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
• Most calls taken with experienced CNMs; back-up physicians always available
• On-site overnight provider room
• Hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California
• Group delivers ~4,000 babies per year
• Southern California's largest Level III NICU with advanced care for high-risk pregnancy

• Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years' experience; 5 years preferred
• Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)
• Must be Board Certified to be considered
