Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Director, US Marketing to join our US Cell Therapy Marketing team. This position is based in Santa Monica and reports into the US Marketing Lead. In this position, you will play a key role in executing both brand and franchise strategy. You will lead the strategy and execution for Opinion Leader Programming and will focus on speaker bureau, advisory programs, and leading congress planning in support of overall US brand strategic imperatives.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required
- Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
- Excellent analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.
- Opinion Leader Programs
- Must possess the ability to maintain, develop, and utilize a level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to Key Opinion Leaders.
- Proven curriculum development and instructional design skills. In-depth familiarity and knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices for training is required.
- Developing and executing the congress plan in coordination with marketing leadership
- Experience working closely with field sales leadership & other cross-functional organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
- Engage often with opinion leaders to develop advocacy and ensure creation of high impact, high value marketing tools and engagement
- Coordinate the planning and execution of advisory programs
- Evaluate and optimize effectiveness of speaker programs
Basic Qualifications
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical marketing, or biotechnology marketing OR
- Master's Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical marketing, or biotechnology marketing OR
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical marketing, or biotechnology marketing OR
- Associate Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical marketing, or biotechnology marketing OR
- High School Diploma/GED and 14+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, pharmaceutical marketing, or biotechnology marketing
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical marketing, market research and/or sales is required
- MBA or other advanced business degree is desired
- In-depth knowledge and experience in franchise-specific market is preferred
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and a patient focus that drives the need for quality deliverables and performance
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharmaceutical industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
- Thorough understanding of both the clinical aspects and business of hematology/oncology
- Familiarity with marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices Results-orientation with a bias for action, sense of urgency, and tangible results
- Ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
- Strategic orientation and ability to quickly adapt plans in response to a rapidly evolving market
- Experience working closely with field sales leadership & organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
