General Manager - Sky Cafe

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all Sky Cafe local base operations. This role requires strong business acumen, operational leadership, and a commitment to safety, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and embody company core values, ensuring alignment and commitment across all team members
  • Provide and maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment for all employees
  • Champion a Safety-First culture throughout the operation
  • Prepare and deliver monthly forecasts for flight activity and base-level expenses
  • Manage financial performance to meet or exceed corporate budget and profitability targets
  • Participate in annual budget planning and preparation
  • Represent the base in regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clients
  • Participate in Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to the station
  • Monitor and manage Daily Labor Percentage (DLP) and revenue performance, adjusting as needed
  • Manage and maintain airline and company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Lead regular employee and leadership engagement meetings
  • Ensure compliance with uniform, appearance, and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in required meetings, providing insights, recommendations, and leadership input
  • Conduct operational and safety briefings as required
  • Deliver initial and ongoing training to all staff and ensure training standards are met
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures
  • Maintain regular communication with the Director regarding operational performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airline customers through consistent engagement
  • Attend weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly customer meetings as required
  • Prepare and present financial and operational metrics on a regular basis
  • Be accountable for meeting or exceeding all safety, financial, and operational objectives
  • Develop and mentor leadership talent, including succession planning initiatives
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all carrier and base contracts to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Identify high-potential employees for future growth and development
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Ensure safety incident reports are completed and distributed within three (3) hours of occurrence
  • Ensure all required employee training is completed to company standards
  • Perform operational roles as needed to support the business
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively and ensure timely completion
  • Travel periodically to other locations to provide leadership support and guidance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
  • Exposure to extreme temperature changes and elevated noise levels
  • May be required to work in refrigerated environments (approximately 39°F/4°C) for extended periods
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout shifts
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 25 feet or more, depending on aircraft type
  • Ability to perform job duties outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport security credentials
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an airport vehicle operator permit
  • Ability to operate all required equipment, including forklifts, high-lift trucks, and catering vehicles
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules
  • Ability to work within required operational timeframes
  • Successful completion of all airline and company-required training and recertification programs
  • Ability to travel as required
